The Valley Zoo Development Society (VZDS) is a registered charity and the official partner of the CAZA-accredited Edmonton Valley Zoo. We support conservation for species at risk, like the endangered red panda, and work to inspire awareness, curiosity, and meaningful connections with wildlife.

**What am I watching?**
You’re watching the Arctic wolf habitat at the Edmonton Valley Zoo, a CAZA-accredited facility.
**What does CAZA-accredited mean?**
CAZA stands for Canada’s Accredited Zoos and Aquariums. Accreditation means the zoo meets high, nationally-recognized standards for animal care, welfare, conservation, and education.
**Is this live?**
Yes, the Arctic wolf habitat livestream is live. The camera shows the main outdoor habitat where the wolves can be seen moving, resting, and exploring throughout the day.
**Is this stream always live?**
The stream is intended to run as continuously as possible, but occasional interruptions may happen.
**When were the wolf pups born?**
Aspen went into her den in late April, so our best estimate is that the pups were born around April 23-24, 2026.
**Is the den on camera?**
No. Aspen has proven to be a very thoughtful and attentive first-time mother and has chosen a remote, naturally sheltered area of the habitat for her den that remains out of view. While the den itself is not visible, viewers can watch the main area of the habitat, and may spot the wolves as they come down to explore, play, and interact throughout the day.
**Do the wolf pups have names yet?**
Not just yet! The team is waiting until we learn more about the pups’ before choosing names. We especially love suggestions inspired by Arctic landscapes, northern environments, or other elements connected to the natural history of Arctic wolves. Stay tuned for more information!
**What colour are Arctic wolf pups at birth?**
Arctic wolf pups are typically born with darker brown fur. As they grow, their coat gradually lightens over time, eventually becoming the white colouring commonly associated with adult Arctic wolves.
**Can I see the wolves in-person right now?**
At this stage, sightings are not guaranteed and, if they do occur, are likely to be brief. There is a very real possibility you may not see the pups during your visit, as Aspen is following her natural instincts to prioritize a quiet, secure space where the pups can begin to explore at their own pace.
**Will there be more camera angles?**
The livestream setup may evolve over time as the team continues improving the viewing experience.
